The Clarkes Mead Trust owns and manages the land and buildings that 1st Henfield Scout Group meet in. The Group, which encompasses the World's oldest existing Scout Troop founded in 1907, desperately needs a new building as the present timber hut is rotting quickly and is likely to be condemned in the near future. Such an event would mean likely closure of the Scout Group and the loss of the world's oldest Troop.The charity is raising funds to build Henfield Scout Community Centre which will be used both by the Scout Group and other local clubs and societies, so far 20 local clubs have expressed an interest in using the Centre when it is built.
