Medic to Medic M2M was founded in 2007. Our aim is to support socially and economically disadvantaged students through their training as health workers in Africa. We provide scholarships to cover tuition fees, medical books and equipment, a laptop and stationery allowances, so that each student has everything they need to complete their education and reach their full potential. As we receive so many requests we focus on supporting students who come from rural backgrounds, from orphan or single parent families, female students and those that have non professional parents. These students are the most likely to stay and work in rural areas where there is limited access to healthcare. These students are also the most at risk of dropping out of their training due to lack of resources. Unfortunately due to lack of funding we are unable to take on every student we have a request from. Currently we support doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists, nurses and psychiatric nurses.
